TRACING DAD’S PATH
Phil Neville’s son Harvey is following in his father’s footsteps by signing his first contract with Manchester United after turning 16. Harvey shared the news on his Instagram saying, ”I am very proud and excited to have signed for the club I have supported my entire life.” Neville Senior also shared an image of his posing with a United kit and revealed his delight at seeing his son in the same famous Red jersey he wore so many years ago. Neville said, ”Proud of you Harvey Neville, go follow your dreams.”
LUKAKU IN CONTENTION FOR ENGLAND
Romelu Lukaku has shrugged off a knock to his ankle and is winning the race to be fit against England but even if he is fit, may not make the starting XI. Belgium boss Roberto Martinez promised to make changes after seeing his side secure a place in the Round of 16. Martinez, in his press conference, issued the update about Lukaku and said, ”The next 48 hours will tell us if Romelu Lukaku will be involved against England or not. He had a scan today. And there was no further damage.”
UNTIED MAY SIGN LUKE SHAW TO NEW DEAL
With Manchester United refusing to bow into Juventus’ demands, it seems increasingly likely that Luke Shaw’s current contract will be extended. Shaw is available for a free transfer next season and United want to avoid losing a man they invested so much money in four years back for free. There is still hope that Shaw can regain his fitness and finally cement his status as United’s No. 1 left back after playing second fiddle to Ashley Young last season.
FELLAINI TEASES FANS
Marouane Fellaini teased Manchester United fans by saying that his future will be sorted soon as his deal at Manchester United inches ever closer to its end. When asked about his future, the 30-year-old Belgian said, ”You’ll know soon.” United are refusing to bow to the demands of the Belgian and it is expected that the player will be plying his trade at a new home at the start of the new footballing season come August.
MOURINHO PUSHING FOR RAIOLA EXIT
Jose Mourinho is reportedly trying to convince Paul Pogba to sack his agent Mino Raiola after the agent “offered” the Frenchman to Manchester City sometime in January this year. This was revealed by French Football via GFFN and there is hope from United fans that their star player signs with another agent, in a way similar to how Romelu Lukaku did. Lukaku, another one of the signings Raiola facilitated to United, is now with Roc Nation.
