UNITED STAMP ON ENGLAND V SWEDEN
England and Sweden played their quarterfinal game in Samara on Saturday and there were three Manchester United players over both teams with Ashley Young and Jesse Lingard playing for the Three Lions and Victor Lindelof wearing the yellow of Sweden. Both Englishmen assisted the two England goals and despite ending on a 2-0 loss Lindelof had an excellent game and tournament at the World Cup in Russia.
PRE-SEASON BEGINS
Manchester United’s new World Cup players are expected to report for preseason later today at Carrington. Mourinho is not expected to be there but Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna will oversee proceedings. The likes of Tahith Chong, Angel Gomes, Diogo Dalot are expected to be present when United return to begin preparations for the new season. Sergio Romero, Eric Bailly, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Anthony Martial, Alexis Sanchez are all set to take part in the first day of the preseason at United.
UNITED BID FOR MILAN DEFENDER REJECTED
Manchester United have reportedly been rejected by AC Milan for defender Romagnoli. The 23-year-old defender had an excellent campaign for AC Milan last time out and is one of the players been linked with United as they continue searching for a centre back. Milan’s hand may be forced after the club fell foul of Financial Fair Play regulations and may be forced to sell their prized assets to get their books right.
BLIND INTEREST CONFIRMED
Ajax manager Erik ten Hag confirmed that his side are looking to bring back Daley Blind from Manchester United. Blind is one of the players tipped to make an exit from Old Trafford this summer and Ajax have been one of the favourites to land the Dutch International. ten Hag said “He is a player with a lot of experience, in the Premier League and in the Dutch national team. He is a stable personality. Just like the arrival of Dusan Tadic, this also counts as a considerable effort of the club. We are doing everything, but it also depends on other parties.”
UNITED IN FOR LOZANO?
Manchester United are reportedly set to enter the fray for Hirving Lozano’s signature. The Mexico International had a great World Cup marked by scoring the winner against Germany. Lozano was linked with United previous summer but made the move to the Netherlands rather than Old Trafford. A fee of 30m has been touted and the transfer has been blessed by Mourinho if tabloids are to be believed.
