POGBA FUTURE CLARIFICATION

Incoming first-team coach is the latest to shed light on the future of Manchester United star Paul Pogba joining the likes of the player himself, his teammates and even Mourinho. Carrick said,” It’s a very silly question really. Of course, he’s got a future, he’s a big player for us, he’s at a great age, he’s got his peak years ahead of him, so it’s not something I’d give a second thought to, to be honest.”

UNITED OPEN ALDERWEIRELD TALKS

Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with Tottenham Hotspur over the transfer of Belgian centre-back Toby Alderweireld. Tottenham is expected to hold out for a fee north of 40m and hope to get something close to 50m in order to make funds available to improve the squad in other areas. Spurs are keen to sell given the clause in Alderweirld’s contract that allows him to depart a cut-price fee of 25m next summer. Alderweireld has rejected a new deal at Spurs during the season.

YAYA OPEN TO UNITED MOVE

Former Manchester City player Yaya Toure admitted that he won’t rule out a move to Manchester United despite his City history. The three-time Premier League title winner said,” Yeah, [Carrick] just left. Let’s see, let’s see. I don’t rule out big teams. The big teams are very important for me. What they want to achieve, the way they want to go, for me is very important.”

“I love Paul Pogba. It’s difficult because of the way the media has treated h. We don’t have same characteristics because for me I was involved in all the ball. I ran everywhere. I liked that. Pogba is the same size, power but different in the way he wants to go. Technically as well, the ability to score goals as well. It is a player I want to play with, to be honest, and just to teach him something.”
