UNITED ANNOUNCE BAYERN FRIENDLY
Manchester United announced their final pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich yesterday. The game will take place in Germany at the home of Bayern and will be played on the 5th of August, weeks before the start of the new Premier League season. Bayern will be the sixth club United face this preseason as they meet Club America, San Jose Earthquakes, AC Milan and Real Madrid in the States.
DEAN HENDERSON EXPECTED TO SIGN EXTENSION
Manchester United’s 21-year-old goalkeeper Dean Henderson is expected to reject interest from Arsenal and Chelsea and sign on a new deal at Manchester United. He is expected to sign a contract that binds him to the club for two years with the option of an extra year. Henderson is also expected to move to the Championship for the entirety of the upcoming season. Henderson had an excellent season for Shrewsbury in League One as he kept 19 clean sheets on his way to the PFA League One Team of The Year.
SOUNESS IS AT IT AGAIN
In his latest tirade against Manchester United star Paul Pogba, Sky worker Graeme Souness urged French boss Didier Deschamps to bench Pogba at the World Cup. After repeated shots at Pogba during the season, sometimes in unwarranted cases and the now infamous moment of uncomfortableness for Souness as Thierry Henry praised Pogba in the aftermath of the Manchester Derby, this is the latest take on Pogba by the Englishman. Your bet is as good as mine as to what he will be saying next.
DESAILLY PRAISES POGBA
Comments from someone like Marc Desailly about Pogba were entirely on the other spectrum with regards to Paul Pogba. Desailly said, ”Pogba is more talented than any other midfielder of my generation. He’s had this pressure around him and his performances for a long time. Everyone knows about his extraordinary potential but I think we’re asking too much of him. He can make the difference but other players have to assume the role of leaders too.”
LUKAKU STEALS THE SHOW
Romelu Lukaku was in hot form once again as he notched up two goals and an assist for Belgium in their final friendly win over Costa Rica yesterday. Lukaku had a very good game and was always a thorn in the Costa Rican defence and was a nightmare for the back four. Lukaku connected with two well-taken crosses and put in a well-driven ball into the area after an intelligent run to assist Belgium’s fourth of the night.
