Man United Round-Up: In talks with English right-back, Hunt for French centre-forward, La Liga striker on the radar

Man United keeping close tabs with Atletico Madrid defender

Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier stays keen on a possible move to Man United. However, Los Colchoneros’ demands are currently holding up the agreement, with the La Liga giants said to be asking for nearly £35m for the 30-year-old right-back. England international would like to come back to the Premier League this transfer window but suggests it could require Man United to sell footballers before they can afford to pay the Spanish club what they want for the right-back. Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side would do well to bring in Kieran as an upgrade on Wan-Bissaka, who has been a regular performer for Man United but lacks the attacking quality of footballers like Walker, Alexander-Arnold and Reece James at their rivals.

Inter Milan leading race to sign Man United centre-forward

Man United are prepared to send centre-forward Anthony Martial out to Inter Milan on loan, as long as the agreement includes the obligation for it to be made permanent. Everton have been linked with an audacious loan swoop for the 25-year-old striker as the Toffees reiterate that the Nerazzurri have tried to sign the Frenchman before, back in 2019. It’s hard to see how the Red Devils will manage to get the best out of France international this campaign as he’ll have to battle Cavani and Greenwood for the striker place this campaign, the latter possibly seeing more action as a centre-forward now that Jadon Sancho is expected to start out wide.

Man United planning shock move for La Liga centre-forward

Man United are reportedly preparing a bid for Barcelona striker Antoine Griezmann. The Catalan giants have already been rocked this week by the exit of Lionel Messi. The Red Devils are now keen on poaching another of the Blaugrana’s high-profile attacking footballers, Antoine Griezmann, according to Sun. The report claims that the Red Devils are aware of the Spanish club’s need for a major cash influx and are prepared to table an official offer in the coming days. The Premier League club have already signed Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane to the Norwegian manager’s squad this transfer window. While bringing in France international would certainly add to that, another forward is absolutely not a priority for the Red Devils.

Man United want to keep right-back despite several offers

Man United will not allow Diogo Dalot to leave Old Trafford on loan this transfer window unless they net a fee of €5m. There is no deal with any team for Portugal international yet, and Man United are considering keeping the defender after a promising pre-season. Diogo spent last campaign out on loan with Milan, starting 20 of his 33 games for the Rossoneri in a campaign that saw him contribute two goals and three assists. The Portuguese right-back feels confident that he can provide solid competition to starting defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The Red Devils added the 22-year-old defender for a fee of £19m back in the summer of 2018.
