Man United Round-Up: Hunt for French midfielder, English attacker on Leicester City radar, In talks with French striker, Closely monitoring English shot-stopper

Man United in the hunt for No.10 Stade Rennais midfielder

Man United and Real Madrid are reportedly among the teams that are vying for the signature of Stade Rennais midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, according to a report. France international is the main target for Man United, who are keen on signing the midfielder this transfer window. As per the report, Ligue 1 club are opening up to the prospect of cashing in on Eduardo before the summer transfer window slams shut, although both the Red Devils and Los Blancos would be set to wait till next year to pounce as well, in case the French midfielder remains put at Stade Rennais. What now stays to be seen is if Camavinga ends up making a big move this transfer window or becomes a free agent next year.

Leicester City enter the race for Man United attacker

Jesse Lingard has reportedly appeared as Leicester City’s preferred choice to replace James Maddison, should the playmaker depart for Arsenal. In a loan deal, Lingard displayed his talent at West Ham United when the attacker joined the Hammers in winter. His nine goals for West Ham United lifted them and helped them finish in the UEFA Europa League places. The Hammers manager has been keen on reuniting with Jesse, but West Ham United’s interest has cooled off since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suggested the attacker is part of his plans. It stays to be seen how much the Red Devils would demand for England international in this market. Leicester City would be willing to pay a fair price, but not over the odds for someone who may not have a resale value in the future.

Inter Milan keeping close tabs with Man United forward

Inter Milan are reportedly considering Anthony Martial, who is valued at nearly €40m by Man United, as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku. With France international several years younger than another target Duvan Zapata and yet to theoretically hit his peak, Martial is a viable target for the Nerazzurri, even though his best qualities are much different as compared to those of Romelu Lukaku’s. As per the report, Serie A champions are hoping to land Anthony on an initial loan before signing the forward on a permanent deal next summer transfer window. However, the Red Devils will not entertain any such offers and will stay adamant on their €40m valuation.

Man United keep a close eye on English goalkeeper

West Brom are prepared to hand out a deal extension to Sam Johnstone amid interest from Man United, Tottenham and West Ham United. The same can be said for the Red Devils, who have an abundance of shot-stoppers. Although both David de Gea and Dean Henderson have been linked with moves away from the Theatre of Dreams, it won’t be surprising to see them stay at Man United this transfer window. Moreover, Man United had brought in another former academy talent in Tom Heaton this transfer window.
