Man United Round-Up: Hunt for English centre-forward, Norwegian striker on the radar, In advanced talks with English right-back

Gary Neville urges Man United to sign No.10 Premier League striker

Gary Neville has urged Man United to make a push to secure the signing of Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who is a transfer target for local rivals Man City.

The Red Devils have significantly strengthened their team this transfer window by signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.

England international, meanwhile, is keen to complete a move to Man City before the summer transfer window slams shut. However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is understood to keep Kane even if a £150m bid is received this week.

But Gary has called on the Red Devils to test the Spurs’ resolve with an offer for Harry as he believes Man United are still short in the Premier League trophy race without a leading centre-forward.

Gary compared the Red Devils’ progression under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to Liverpool’s early years under Jurgen Klopp. Still, Neville said Liverpool’s major step-up in Jurgen Klopp’s fourth campaign was fuelled by the arrivals of Alisson and Virgil van Dijk.

Man United keeping close tabs with No.9 Bundesliga centre-forward

Man United are reportedly the frontrunners to secure the signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of next year.

The Red Devils will need a new striker when the next campaign rolls in, considering that Edinson Cavani is in the final year of his deal, while Anthony Martial could possibly be shown the doors as well in case he fails to come good in the ongoing season.

Man United have lacked a prolific No.9 for a while now, having decided not to replace Romelu Lukaku after selling him to Inter Milan in 2019. So, it is very likely that the Red Devils will go big the next summer for a new striker.

And, having swooped Jadon Sancho away from Borussia Dortmund this year, they could raid the Bundesliga giants for Norway international twelve months later.

There have been reports that the 21-year-old striker already has a pre-agreement with Real Madrid over a transfer to the Spanish giants next summer, according to Dailystar.

Man United leading race to sign 30-year-old La Liga defender

Man United hold the edge over Arsenal in the battle to sign Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier. England international, for his part, is set to come back to the Premier League but would prefer to move to the Theatre of Dreams if given a choice.

An understandable decision given that he came through the Man City youth system and is already familiar with the city. Man United are aware of Trippier’s interest and could be encouraged to return with an improved offer.
