Jose Mourinho is a little bit like Marmite, isn’t he?
Some just can not help but love him whilst others simply can not stand the guy and do not want any thing to do with him.
Of course, there is no doubting what he has managed to bring to football, having won titles everywhere he has been (except for Tottenham Hotspur) but his time at clubs appears to turn sour after two years before he becomes a problem and one in which clubs decide to act on and cut from them as quickly as possible.
Manchester United fans will know all about the current AS Roma boss and his tendencies, although it seems he still has plenty to say about one of their players; who appears to have finally given his own viewpoint on the situation.
Luke Shaw and Mourinho never saw eye-to-eye with each other and the Portuguese manager continued to single out the England international for a number of things. Sorry, did we say continued? He still does to this day, which is why the left-back has decided to come out and provide his own words.
Working as a pundit before taking up the vacancy at AS Roma this summer, the manager decided to slam Shaw for his performance against the Czech Republic in the current Euro 2020 Championships; a team who might be an outside contender for those using Free Bets for the latter stage of the competition after they shocked The Netherlands.
“Clearly I am in his head a lot and he clearly thinks about me a lot,” Shaw said, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.
“There is no hiding that we didn’t get on.
“I think he was a brilliant manager but, you know, the past is the past. It is time to move on. I am trying to move on but, obviously, he can’t.
“He continuously talks about me, which I find quite strange. Even some of the lads have said ‘what’s his problem?’ and ‘why does he keep talking?’ He just needs to move on.
“What he says now is nothing compared to how it used to be if I am being totally honest.
“I am so past it now. I have grown up a lot. The three years I had with him, I learnt a lot. I find it easy to ignore him now and even laugh about it. But it’s better just to ignore it and move on with my life.”
Of course, given how Mourinho has viewed Shaw, he would have been left furious with how well the left-back performed for Manchester United last season and will probably be blaming the England international for costing him his job at Old Trafford and subsequently being replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
