Ahead of the FA Cup final, what is your opinion on United’s season, and how much of a difference will a win make?

Whilst second spot is never a bad place to be, it is the fact that City were the team above us and Liverpool are in a Champions League final. Our biggest rivals will have bragging rights and I know they say the table never lies, but I feel in United’s case it does this season. They have flattered to deceive for the majority of the season and the main worry is the toll this season has taken on some of the squad, more importantly the younger members. A FA Cup final win is always welcome but can only feel it will add to the second place finish to aid the papering over of the cracks.

Where do you think the game will be won/lost?

Will be interesting to see what the fitness levels of Romelu Lukaku will be assuming he makes it. The fact Mourinho suggested he would play some of the game vs Watford but didn’t, could suggest he is a doubt. If he plays I think he will be a key ingredient in deciding which way this game goes. I am a big Marcus Rashford fan but United do not play football in a way that gets the best out of him. Lukaku’s size is a big part of how United perform, relying on his hold up play to bring the runs of Pogba and Lingard into the game.

Who is Chelsea’s biggest threat?

This can be only one man, Eden Hazard. For me he is the most talented player in England and when on form almost unplayable. This could well be his Chelsea swansong and an eye on putting himself firmly in the shop window. Mourinho normally targets him as that man to stop and will play a way to do so. Stop Hazard then you tend to stop Chelsea.

Key player for United on the day?

Although Lukaku is important to where the game will be won, I think it could be down to how Lingard gets beyond the big Belgian that will be key for United. When Rashford plays up top, it is difficult for any runners to get in the game as he tends to run away from them quicker than they can get passed him. Lingard has been brilliant this season and his runs across the back line of the opposition have resulted in United looking at their most dangerous. Saturday will be no exception.

Favourite moment from this season’s Cup run

City losing to Wigan again? In all seriousness the United run to the final was fairly simple until the semi final where they produced one of the best performances of the season to beat Spurs. I have to be honest, having seen the league game at Wembley where they produced one of their worst performances, I gave United no chance if reaching the final. But that Herrera strike has to go down as my favourite moment so far.

Best and worst memory of Cup finals gone by

Best has to be the Jesse Lingard strike vs Palace after being a goal and a man down. The first trophy we had one for sometime and with youth in the side, I had high hopes for the next couple of seasons with new and exciting attacking players. That changed quickly.
Not sure what the worst would be as not been in many recently and the one we have been in we won.

Your starting lineup for Saturday

My line up is drastically different to what the line-up will be. De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Bailly, Shaw, Matic, Pogba, Lingard, Martial, Lukaku & Rashford. I have a feeling Jose may go with three at the back though and go like for like with Chelsea. There is no way Sanchez and Young don’t start and I expect Smalling and Herrera will too.
