Key man wants to leave but fans should not worry

Cristiano Ronaldo is unsure of his future at Manchester United due to the club’s lack of transfer activity this summer, according to Spanish media AS. Manchester United insist Cristiano Ronaldo will not be sold, despite the frustrated star demanding the club to leave when an acceptable offer emerges. Although he wants a new striker, Ronaldo is expected to lead Manchester United’s lineup next season after an excellent 2021–22 season. Manchester United will sooner or later have to sign a new striker to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, whether this summer or next.

Manchester United will enter the new season with the most realistic chance of lifting the Premier League trophy for the first time since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013. With Manchester United more like a team from the past, there is calm confidence at the club. It could be a significant threat this season.

Manchester United recently signed Christian Eriksen, which could be an excellent signing for them in the midfield. Eriksen is the player the Red Devils need in the midfield as he is the one who will play short passes and will look to create chances for the strikers by pulling in the central defenders. Players like Sancho and Rashford will benefit from this as they will find suitable space to run while Eriksen plays long balls above the defenders. Eriksen contributes well in the attacking third by making the run between the defenders and creating scoring chances. He makes a maximum of 26 touches in the attacking third. He scored only one goal with the bees but was very useful with Inter Milan and Spurs. It was rumoured that he would join Spurs at the end of last season with Conte being the manager, but Erik Ten Hag wanted him at United.

Still, the main discussion left is whether Ronaldo will stay at United?. Ronaldo has hinted that he is not going to stay and wants to leave United as he wants to be a part of the UEFA Champions League. Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has been roaming all around Europe to get a UCL team for him but has failed. Speculations were that Ronaldo would join Chelsea as they wanted someone to replace Lukaku, but Tuchel says they have found a perfect replacement in Raheem Sterling. Ten Hag will wish that CR7 stays at Old Trafford so that they can build a title-challenging team. If Ronaldo leaves United at the end of the transfer window, they will have to find a new attacker to replace them too quickly.
