The 17-year-old Manchester United youngster is no doubt a phenomenal prospect and with an outstanding performance so far, this might be the time for him to have a proper debut.

Mason Greenwood, made his way to the senior team at a young age after a remarkable performance in the U18 last season where he finished as the top scorer with 17 goals and 21 assists in his first season.

Greenwood played fantastically well in the U-19 ICGT Cup final against Real Madrid and scored the winning goal for the team. Despite being the youngest player in the team, he was awarded the player of the tournament. He continued to soar high and was the highest goal scorer in the U-18 league last season with 26 goals. With all these stats, Manchester United coach, Ole-Gunnar Solksjaer, was convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that the youngster is ready to play for the senior team.

Solksjaer, however, brought in the striker in the last Champions League match against PSG which ended in a 3-1 victory and United, progressed to the next stage.

Mason put up an impressing performance in the pre-season tour with two goals scored. His first goal was against Perth and it was the opening goal for united. The second goal was scored against Inter Milan.

The England youngster possesses the potentials of becoming a world-class striker as his runs for the ball are precise. He also poses quick feet that were used against Inter player, Milan Skriniar in the last pre-season tour.

Manchester United last game against Southampton showed a glimpse of what the young striker is capable of as he almost saw the back of the net after a quick dribble past the defenders.

When Ole talked about focusing on young players this season, he was definitely talking about Greenwood.

This is time for him to make a proper debut.

Mason has been coming up from the bench this season and has not had a chance to unleash his true potentials, Most of the time he is always subbed in, usually in the 80th minute.

The youngster is definitely ready, to start a match for the Red Devils.

With Martial injured, most of the fans believed that the English player would be made to start the last match against Southampton but instead Rashford played upfront with Daniel James and Periera on both wings.

Possible formation

With Greenwood upfront, Daniel James and Rashford will be on both wings. The attack would be a formidable one as the three players are both fast and clinical. Quick counters would be easy to execute and a lot of goals should come.

Ole, should have faith in Mason and allow him to start the next match as this could be the breakthrough United needs.
