The game on Saturday against Crystal Palace saw the Red Devils’ number 9 Anthony Martial get injured as he was limping in the last minutes of the match, due to this the Frenchman would not be playing the next match against Southampton and could miss more games.

Martial has been United’s most consistent performer so far this season unlike in the past seasons.

He seems to have gained more confidence probably due to the restoration of the number 9 jersey. He looks like a more reliable striker for the team.

The 22-year-old’s injury has paved way for 17-year-old Mason Greenwood who performed quite well in pre-season to finally prove himself with what will potentially be a starting berth for him come Saturday.

Daniel James, on the other hand, has shown what he is capable of with two goals in three games this season. He will definitely be tipped to provide more of the same come Saturday.

He has proven to be a nice addition to the team and stands out with his blistering pace which is advantageous for any attack.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s new game plan had stipulated that the young ones will be given more playing time and that they would be the major focus this season as he is keen on building a successful team with youth.

Possible Formation

The next game might have Rashford play up front as the main striker though he has not had the best start to the season.

United will be hoping his missed penalty against Crystal Palace does not ruin his confidence.

Daniel James has shown to be better on the left-wing as proven in the last match with him scoring.

Mason Greenwood will most likely feature on the right flank from the start.

Ole will most likely consider dropping Jesse Lingard and give Juan Mata the nod from the start playing as the number ten in a 4-2-3-1.

Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Daniel James will form a vibrant front three that will take on the saints away from home.

Will they make a difference on Saturday or will the lads disappoint the fans again?

Come Saturday, we will have all the answers.
