Eric Bailly Phil Jones Manchester United Tactical Analysis Statistics

Although the summer transfer window may have been closed for international deals to take place, or for deals involving two Premier League sides, teams can still see some transfer activity happen.

Teams that were perhaps unable to shift some of their deadweight earlier on in the summer have the opportunity to try and move them on and Manchester United are a side that can certainly benefit from doing so.

The Red Devils did manage to sign a number of targets this summer, with Alex Telles and Donny van de Beek amongst those to likely to receive more immediate opportunities. These men will certainly be individuals to keep an eye on as the best football tipsters will highlight these men as players who can make a difference.

However, with windows in various other countries still open, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still has an opportunity to trim down his squad and clear some wasted wage bill. These are five of the men that could be facing an exit.

Sergio Romero

Sergio Romero is perhaps one of the most high-profile, however it should not be one that is a surprise. The Argentina international’s wife has been vocal about her displeasure surrounding the treatment the goalkeeper has received.

The shot-stopper was earlier omitted from the squad for the upcoming UEFA Champions League tournament as well, further increasing doubts about his future whilst Dean Henderson has returned to the club after impressive loan spells away.

Phil Jones

Phil Jones’ career at Old Trafford looks all-but-over at the moment. Like Romero, he was omitted from the recent UEFA Champions League squad list and appears to be surplus to requirements at the club.

Solksjaer already has a number of central defenders available to him, however it remains to be seen if a club looks to take him off the Red Devils’ hands this summer with the deadline looming.

Marcos Rojo

A player that has been completely frozen out, Marcos Rojo has been planning for a transfer as he trains away from the team. He is out of the first-team picture and his omission from the UEFA Champions League squad is just further evidence of how far he has fallen.

His wages might be a stumbling block for a permanent switch away, but he has had loan spells in both Portugal and Russia; two windows that are still open.

Jesse Lingard

Perhaps a little more doubtable, Jesse Lingard could be one that could be on the move this summer. The midfielder has been linked with a number of different clubs in the past, however with Andreas Pereira departing temporarily for S.S. Lazio, it might be difficult to for him to leave.

The 27-year-old has looked better in recent weeks, however FC Porto are thought to be interested.

Brandon Williams

Brandon Williams could potentially look to leave on loan and get regular minutes under his belt as he looks to continue his development. The arrival of Alex Telles will have likely pushed him further down the pecking order, although he could potentially play as a back-up option for Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the other flank.
