Manchester United midfielder, Andreas Pereria, shows good qualities but needs to improve his game if he wants to be a regular starter for the club.

The Brazilian midfielder, made a statement at the start of the season affirming his readiness to play more for club and that he can be the next David Beckham for United.

He said:

“As a number eight or a number ten. I can play on the right-wing like Becks used to play, cut inside and get the early cross in. I have a lot to show.”

Andreas, who has been in the club since 2012 has only 8 goals and 9 assists in total. This is partly due to the fact that he has only played few games and has been loaned to both Valencia and Granada.

He is good with through passes and he is also a danger from set-pieces too. He is one of the best free-kick takers currently in the squad and better than Rashford at it. However, he failed to impress the coaches as he was undermined by both Jose Mourinho and Ole Solksjaer.

What might be the problem?

He performed quite well last season but had a problem of consistency.

He provided a fine assist for Martial in the victory against Chelsea at the beginning of the season and did not play again until Southampton, performing below par as he could not make any possible contributions to the team. He was subbed off later on.

The major problem of the Brazilian midfielder is his consistency. He needs to work on that and bring his A-game in every match for him to be a regular starter for the Reds. He needs more commitment and improved gameplay. With Ole, down to few players as United sold more players than they bought, this season, Pereira’s improved performances will go a long way in helping the team.

Andreas can play through passes which will provide more chances for the attack up front and he can also be used in place of Lingard, who seems to be going through a lot this season. He could also help United settle the issue of set-pieces currently going on as he has proven to be a good free-kick taker.

Better performances, in general, will mean better options available that can help the team move forward in the league. Pereira obviously has potentials but has a lot of work to do in order to be better.
