Who are Manchester United?

Manchester United Football Club, simply known as Man United, is an English professional football team that competes in the Premier League, the top division of the English football system.

Man United, nicknamed ”Red Devils”, were established in 1878 and play their home matches at Old Trafford, which has a seating capacity of 74,140. The Red Devils have won more titles than any other team in England.

Man United have won 20 league trophies, 12 FA Cups, 5 League Cups and 21 FA Community Shields. Ryan Giggs holds the record for the most appearances as he played 963 games between 1991 and 2014.

Wayne Rooney has the record for the most goals as he scored 253 goals in 559 games for the club between 2004 and 2017. Man United appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjær as a coach in winter 2018, taking over from the Portuguese manager José Mourinho for the rest of the 2018–19 campaign.

This summer, the Red Devils announced that the Norwegian coach had signed a three-year deal extension, with an option for a further year, keeping the manager at Old Trafford until at least 2024.

Man United has rivalries with Arsenal, Leeds United, Liverpool, and Man City, with whom they contest the Manchester derby.

The Red Devils iconic figure, Sir Alex Ferguson, is considered by many to be one of the greatest coaches of all time, and the Scottish tactician has won more titles than any other coach in the history of football.

What are Manchester United’s predictions for next season?

Man United had an excellent season as they finished the Premier League in second place and qualified for the UEFA Champions League. The Red Devils also reached the UEFA Europa League final, but they lost against Villarreal in a penalty shoot-out.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to bolster the squad during this summer transfer window. Man United already signed Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, Raphael Varane from Real Madrid and Tom Heaton from Aston Villa.

The Red Devils also linked with Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez and Stade Rennais youngster Eduardo Camavinga. Man United will host Leeds United on the opening weekend of the Premier League on 14 August.
