Who is Amad Diallo?
Amad Diallo is an Ivorian professional footballer born on 11 July 2002 who plays as a forward for Premier League giants Man Utd.
Born in the Ivory Coast, Diallo has made a switch to Italy as a child. He started his football career at the youth system in 2015, where he managed to won two Campionato Primavera 1 titles. In 2019 he became the first player born in 2002 to score in the Italian top-tier, in a debut for the team. In January 2021, Diallo has signed by Man Utd as Ole Gunnar Solksjaer asked the club board to lure him at Old Trafford.
Diallo made his senior debut for the Ivory Coast national team at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
On 5 October 2020, Man United agreed to make the transfer of Diallo in January 2021, signing the agreement of personal terms, passing a medical and the issue of a work permit. The reported fee is believed to be €25 million that could rise to €40 million, including bonuses he has been contracted with the Red Devils until 2025.
Diallo scored a brace on his debut for the Red Devils U-23s, in a 6–3 victory over the Merseyside Reds on 30 January. He was first called up to the senior team on 9 February as an unused substitute in an FA Cup fifth-round game against the Hammers that ended in a 1–0 victory of the Red Devils after extra time. On 18 February, Diallo made his first-team debut for the Red Devils as a substitute for Greenwood in a 4–0 away win over Real Sociedad in the Europe League.
On 13 March, Diallo was selected in their 2020 CAF Youth Team of the Year (U20). He made his Premier League debut against Leicester City, where he managed to provide one assist to Mason Greenwood, helping the Red Devils to secure a 2-1 victory.
